Lend a Hand, a Hammer, a Doughnut!
Rebuilding Together Houston volunteer crew project on Sats April 18 and 25.
On two Saturdays every April and October, for the past 18 years, UU congregations have gathered to renovate the exterior of a home owned and occupied by an elderly or disabled Houston neighbor, recommended by social workers and validated by www.rebuildingtogetherhouston.org Join us! Teens can earn community service hours. Families and covenant groups find this a thought provoking endeavor. Volunteers range from 10 – 80 years old. Skilled volunteers build wheelchair ramps, replace rotted wood, and hang safety doors. Unskilled volunteers scrape, paint, and garden. This is a fulfilling, hands-on, sociable activity.
